Please join us on
Sunday April 2, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the La Jolla Marriott for the
Welcome Reception & Talent Show.
We certainly hope
to see all conference attendees at this gala affair when we can share
food, fun, and entertainment together. Guests can network, catch-up
with old friends, make new friends, and make plans for dinner or
sightseeing in beautiful La Jolla and San Diego.
The Welcome
Reception will feature a pasta station, vegetable trays, dessert
assortments, and beverages. A cash bar will be available for beer and
wine.
Of course,
everyone knows that IOA is a group of talented and inspired people.
On Sunday, April 2nd, we are offering an opportunity for you to show off
some of those talents at a IOA Talent Show to be hosted
during our evening reception.
We are looking for singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, storytellers,
jugglers, magicians, and poets, just to name a few. If you have a talent,
we want YOU! If you sing but don't play an instrument, just bring an
instrumental CD for "back-up." And, instrumentalists are welcome too
(guitar, kazoo, bagpipes, you name it)! If your parents made you take
piano lessons, here's your chance to make those lessons finally pay off!
We will have a keyboard available for you to use.
Regardless of whether you are the next Mary J Blige, Bruce Springsteen,
Bill Cosby, David Copperfield - or even William Hung - prizes will be
awarded to all participants!
If you are interested in taking part in this unique event please contact
Tom Sebok (sebok@colorado.edu) or
Ted Williamson
(twilliamson@na.ko.com) and let us know what talent you would like to
showcase that evening. We ask that you respond by March 1. Be bold,
show off and let's have fun! Come on, you know you want to do it!
The success of this talent show will depend on participation. If we do not
receive enough contestants by March 1 then we will have to go to Plan
B... and we don't have one! That's right, folks. ;We're working without
a net here. So, help us out and share your talent! |
